The Gaza-based terror group Hamas was placed in a tricky situation earlier this week after Syrian government forces shelled a Palestinian refugee camp in the coastal town of Latakia. It goes something like this…
Hamas gets lots of money from Iran, which also supports Syria’s President Bashr Assad.
Hamas’ chief-on-the-run, Kaled Mashal, lives in Damascus under the protection of said President Assad.
Hamas is also supposed to be the champions of the Palestinian Arabs and gallant fighters for their rights and freedom.
So what do you do when your supporter and protector of your top man kills and wounds some of your people?
Well, Hamas decided to keep a meek silence on the matter – something which has not endeared them to their grass-roots support base in Gaza itself.
Oh dear – how embarrassing!
